So, if you have already checked my profile you may know that I live in a tropical island in the Indian Ocean. Who says tropical island means tropical fruits, and in Mauritius we are lucky to have a ton of it. This ice-cream is made with bananas but I am sure you can try to replace it with other fruits.
Portion: Around 800 grams
Time: Freezing time 24 hours, Preparation 12 min
Tools: a blender or mixer
- 17 medium bananas
- 3 to 4 tbs of agave syrup (according to taste)
1. Peel the bananas, and cut them in slices. Put the slices in a box, and keep it in your freezer for 24 hours or more.
2. When you want to make your ice cream, take the box out, and put the frozen bananas in batch in your blender or mixer. Blend it progressively. Make some pauses, you don’t want to burn the motor of your machine.
3. Add your 3 or 4 tablespoons of agave syrup. Blend until you have a nice and creamy texture.
For a twist, I tried to add cocoa powder for a chocolate version. However, it wasn’t great. I think it would taste better with strawberries. If you try, let me know how it goes.
