Tartines 2 ways (gluten-free & dairy-free)

Good evening,

Yesterday I baked 2 gluten-free breads and tonight, it gave me the idea to use one for making big tartines/ bruschetta. You will need vegan cheese.

  • 4 tbs frozen corn
  • 2 tbs capers
  • Lemon juice (optional)

Cheesy Onion Peppers Tartine

  • 1/2 cup of grated vegan cheese greek style
  • 1 small onion
  • Half of a pepper
  • Honey or balsamic vinegar (optional)

Instructions:

Smoked Marlin Tartine

1. Defrost the corn in a microwave. Reserve.

2. Cut lengthwise 2 big slices of bread. On each tartine, add 3 slices of smoked marlin.

2. Then add 1/4 cup of vegan mozarella on each tartine. Top it with 2 tbs of corn and 1 tbs of capers.

3. Cook in oven under the grill at thermostat 6/ 180°C/ 350°F or like I did, in a panini grill. When it’s cooked, you can squeeze over some lemon juice.

I added meat for my husband’s tartine. Veganism or vegetarism is not really his thing except when it’s mandatory.

1. Cut lenghtwise 2 big slices of bread.

2. Clean the half pepper. Slice thinly the pepper and slice the onion. On medium heat, fry it for 2-3 minutes.

3. Dispose the peppers and onions on each slice of bread and add 1/4 cup of vegan greek cheese on top of it.

4. Cook in oven under the grill at thermostat 6/ 180°C/ 350°F until the cheese is melted or in a panini grill. When it’s ready, add honey or for a vegan option, a reduction of balsamic vinegar.*

* A reduction of balsamic vinegar can be made by adding only balsamic vinegar in a pan, and by cooking it on medium heat until it thickens a bit.

Serve it hot.
